Sara Barz is a transportation planner and San Francisco mom.

Sara has spent her career making transit easier, leading efforts to help the Bay Area’s transit systems provide better connections and transfer discounts, and serving on advisory boards ensuring accountability for transportation projects.

Sara doesn’t just advocate for better transit; she relies on BART. She knows how painful it is when you can’t get to work or school pick-up on time because the train is delayed. She will use her experience to deliver a world-class rider experience and hold BART accountable.

Sara Barz believes San Franciscans deserve a clean, safe, and connected transit system.

  • Getting the Basics Right

Riders deserve reliable service, safe and clean stations, working elevators, escalators, and fare gates.

  • Creating Welcoming Stations

Plazas should be inviting, and accessible to all users whether on foot or on wheels.

  • Building Housing Near BART Systemwide

People who live near BART stations become BART’s most regular riders.

  • Holding BART Accountable

The agency should implement all of the cost-saving and transparency measures recommended by independent auditors to account for each taxpayer dollar spent.

  • Planning for More Transit

Infill stations should be developed systemwide, and more rail and transit corridors are needed on the west side of San Francisco.
